So yesterday I went to go see the symphony with Rachel. It was amazing. They played Vivaldi’s four seasons, Glass’ American seasons, and the seasons by gladgsifinducd haha. But it was truly incredible. It was the first symphony I had ever been to and it took my breath away. I was smiling the whole time. I don’t know why but it just
made me so happy being there. It really made me realize why I want to have a career in music.
I’m pretty sure I want to be a director. I mean that would be amazing to conduct a high school and eventually an amazing orchestra like that. But I also think it would be amazing to perform with all of those talented musicians. Hopefully I will be able to experience both in my lifetime.
When I was talking to Rachel at intermission we somehow got on the topic of music in college and she said that she wasn’t gonna do it. I said I can’t imagine throwing away something that I’ve been working on for eight years. And she said it wasn’t her passion. That just made things so much clearer for me. I realize now that I can’t live without music. It’s a part of me it makes me so happy.
So my advise, do what you love. Yes money is important but honestly I would rather be poor and be able to perform music than be rich and not have that luxury
